Hi! My name is Alicia Carroll and I am a first year Foundation student at ID. I am a Chicago native and I just graduated from Northwestern University with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and a certificate in Design Engineering.
I chose ID because of the realm of freedom given to the students to choose what they would like to get out of design. Moreover, the user-centered approach to design was an eye-catcher as well because my undergraduate design/engineering experience was user-centered. I was also interested in the variety, not only in the classes and concentrations, but the backgrounds and experiences of the students. Since I don't have a design background --and I'm almost positive I am the youngest among the Foundation students-- I will learn LOTS from my peers. |
