Master of Design (MDes)
Students entering without any previous formal study of design or a portfolio will normally take 3 years to complete the Master of Design program. We seek to admit a large enough group of graduate students in this category to form a class which has approximately 50% of the students with design degrees and 50% from non design backgrounds such as business, engineering, the liberal arts and architecture. They begin with one year of Foundation classes that teach the fundamentals of the design methodology that ID excels in.
Those applicants who have taken undergraduate design at accredited English speaking universities are admitted directly into the two-year Master of Design program after successful review of their portfolio by the admissions committee.
