Physical Human Factors
Description
This course is a rapid overview of physical human factors
covering size, work, performance and sensation. References will
be provided to literature and specialists but the main goal will be
hands-on learning with do-it-yourself methods.
When can you trust your instincts? How can you learn by trying?
When/where can you look it up? What can an expert do for you?
How can you become expert?
Format & Grading
This is an intensive workshop lasting five days with 21 contact
hours. Five modules have been designed: One hour of lecture,
two hours of exercise, one hour of presentations.
The exercises will be performed in small groups and should be
able to be completed in the class time available.
Five-minute team presentations each day to the rest of the class
will be graded on appropriateness, innovation and clarity.
Each day the teams will be different. After the week, a one-page
individual summary (pdf or html) of each of the five modules
including a sketch and a written paragraph is required.
