Jeremy Alexis | Assistant Professor & Assistant Dean
Jeremy Alexis is an Assistant Professor and an Assistant Dean at the Institute of Design. He holds both a Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Design degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Jeremy has spent the majority of his professional career leading interdisciplinary teams tasked with defining next generation products, services, and business models. He has worked with clients such as Unilever, Motorola, Citibank, Pfizer, American Express, Target Corporation, and Zebra Technologies. Before joining ID full time in 2005, Jeremy was a member of the adjunct faculty beginning in the spring of 2000.
Research Interests
The Strategic Value of Design
This program will develop a framework for the successful application of design methods, skills, and thinking to business problems related to competitiveness and organic growth. There are five sub-topics in this research agenda:
- The design planning skill set
- Connecting shareholder value and user value
- How design can mitigate strategic risk in corporations
- The role of design planning in early stage ventures
- Tools that increase collaboration between generative and analytical thinkers
