Show & Tell: An Evening Of New Ideas
July 31st - July 31st 2008 | 5:00pm, 350 N LaSalle Street, 2nd floor, Chicago
Overview
We have charted the planet and are mapping the human genome, but what of the ever-expanding universe of ideas? How is information about the way we live, work and play shared with the rest of the world?
Abstract
Everyday, academics, scientists, business leaders and enthusiasts post new findings on the web. In the face of this endless stream of information, how do we navigate, let alone make sense of it.
In the spirit of exploration, the IIT Institute of Design invites you to attend the premiere of Show & Tell, an evening of new ideas being cultivated right here in Chicago. The salon-like setting will include four brief presentations followed by a cocktail reception.
Agenda
Topics and speakers for the evening include:
Charting the Heavens on Your Mobile Phone – Jeff Terry, Illinois Institute of Technology
The High Cost of Low Status – Derek Rucker, Northwestern University
The Dirty Word Innovation Problem – Randal Picker, University of Chicago
Thirty Years of Sustainability in Chicago – Ken Dunn, The Resource Center
