Implications for Design
The research intent was to better understand how libraries work and how librarians, staff, patrons and communities relate to the institutions.

Secondary research helped to identify many of the facts, issues and forces affecting libraries. Primary research has provided a rich window on specific library operations. Here, various information gathering methods and tools, such as site observation, individual and group interviews, day-in-a-life journals and questionnaires revealed what they did and recorded what they thought.

Subsequent analysis revealed issues that may inform the design of ThinkeringSpaces.
