Past Projects |
| City of Chicago: Troubled Building Initiative |
There are 10,000 abandoned buildings and vacant lots in the City of Chicago making it one of the biggest problems it currently faces. Boards cover what were once doors and gang graffiti replace home addresses. Co-collaborating with the City, internal processes were reexamined and communication with residents improved. |
| Massive Change: Adaptive Urban Planning for Climate Change |
Global warming is eminent, but future challenges are uncertain. An urban city’s passport to survival will be its capacity to adapt. Using Chicago as a backdrop, an adaptive planning process was developed to recognize climate threats, assemble tools to mitigate and respond, and integrate the response into urban policy. |
| Chicago Tribune: The Future of News Media |
The newspaper industry is struggling to remain relevant in peoples’ lives. Subscriptions are dwindling in the face of cheaper and more interactive means of sharing information. New strategies were developed to address challenges faced by the Chicago Tribune, an organization trapped between being a “hyper local” and “national” news source. |
