The Driverless City research featured in New York Times Magazine
This month’s New York Times Magazine is The Tech & Design Issue: Life After Driving. In “Picturing the Self-Driving City” Anna Wiener interviews Marshall Brown, associate professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology College of Architecture and member of the Nayar Prize finalist The Driverless City team. Alongside the post is the mind map developed by team members Marshall Brown, Lili Du, Laura Forlano, Jack Guthman, and Ron Henderson and designed by PhD student Maryam Heidaripour. The article highlights the tools the team created, like the map and the tokens for scenario building, to encourage others to be ambitious and active in determining how self-driving vehicles will change our communities.
