Building on our theme of Adaptive Growth in Latin America, our visit to Mexico City will focus specifically on Mexico’s position in the global economy. We will explore contested space with a focus on brand, identity, and storytelling. We will experience a performance by an in-prison theater company, Compañia de Teatro Penitenciario, that gives voice to the impoverished incarcerated without financial means to support legal defense. Our Strategy Tour Latin America partners, leading design firm INSITUM, will facilitate a citywide expedition of consumerism and enterprise from street vendors to global brands. In addition, we will experience examples of sustainability, urban planning—including a visit to a mid-century vision of an idealized future of Mexico City at UNAM and its Olympic stadium—and meet with innovators from the culinary and design worlds.
